Polymathian expands to WA, appoints Michael Dallimore

World leading Industrial Mathematics software company, Polymathian, has appointed Michael Dallimore, one of Australia’s most respected simulation modelling and operations practitioners, to lead its entry into WA’s heavy industry sector.

MEDIA RELEASE - Brisbane, QLD - 28 July 2020

Founded in Brisbane, Polymathian uses innovative advanced techniques in numerical optimisation, simulation, machine learning, and statistical analysis to deliver significant efficiency and profitability improvements to clients across a range of heavy industries, including many tier 1 mining companies.

Polymathian Director Ben Hollis said: “We’ve had a lot of success in Queensland by establishing close working relationships with several large mining companies to gain an in-depth understanding of the complex problems they needed to solve.

“With this knowledge and insight, we’ve been able to apply our industrial mathematics solutions to deliver significant bottom line improvements. Recently a customer gained a 30% increase in NPV following the implementation of our mine optimisation product, ORB, and is now rolling it out across all its sites globally.

“With a large portfolio of vertically integrated operations, the WA market has even greater opportunity for supply chain optimisation. We have an incredible set of proven products that bring value to different supply chain components. The opportunity to leverage this value when applying these products to large vertically integrated operations is really exciting.

“Michael’s capability, local industry insight and presence will be a driving force in bringing these products to the WA market.”

Prior to joining Polymathian, Michael was a founding partner at The Simulation Group (TSG), a successful simulation-based supplier to the mining industry which was fully integrated into global consulting firm BCG in 2019. TSG was formed in 2000 and was a pioneer in providing advanced analytics services to the resources industry. Michael has extensive experience in iron ore, copper and bulk haulage sectors and has provided analytics solutions to most of the major mining houses both in Australia and internationally.

Michael is based in Perth.
