Position Description

We are expanding our simulation capability to support client needs and to extend the functionality of our optimisation tools. As a Simulation Model Developer/ Analyst you will work with the simulation team and across the Polymathian business to help deliver our projects. You will liaise with clients to understand their operations, collect data and work with the team to design and develop simulation models.

Using the models, you will analyse operations, find operational bottlenecks and ways to improve operational performance. You will develop effective approaches for displaying and communicating analysis outcomes to project stakeholders. You will also assist with the deployment and improvement of the decision support tools that help our clients to optimise their operations.

Required Experience

  • Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in discrete event simulation model and/or software development
  • Experience with simulation analysis projects
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and get involved in the full project lifecycle, including understanding client requirements, data analysis, simulation model development and deployment of hosted simulation tools in an operational environment

Desired Experience

  • Specific experience in Python, associated libraries and/or C++. The dominant languages used by Polymathian for simulation model development are Python and C++.
  • Experience with common COTS simulation packages such as Anylogic, Arena, Simio and Simul8 is also of interest.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience and/or formal qualification in applied mathematics or engineering
  • Exposure to deployment frameworks and techniques
  • Exposure to modern front-end development technologies
  • Familiarity with parts of Polymathian's tech stack
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
